What is Hyfi?
  • This new generation calls for a new approach to ministry. Hyfi digital curriculum breaks the traditional ministry mold to give you effective tools and strategies to reach preschoolers, kids, and students for Christ.
  • Hyfi centers on relationships to create a culture of belonging where kids don’t have to have previous church experience or Bible knowledge to feel welcome and included. When a kid walks through the door—whether that is every week or occasionally—the first focus is on building an authentic relationship with that kid. As relational barriers are broken down, so kids and students know they belong and are welcomed, they are more open to listening to what we have to say about the gospel.
  • Hyfi utilizes high-quality media, fun, games, engaging activities and discussion to foster a fun atmosphere of learning and belonging.

How is Hyfi Christ-focused?

Scope and sequence

Does the Hyfi scope and sequence only cover 12 months?

  • Hyfi is built on a continuous, month over month, scope and sequence, so subscribers can jump in at any time. That’s why the scope and sequence is a circle, not a line. Each month teaches a different biblical truth. And, when you come back around the next year, kids and students will learn the same biblical truth, but with totally new themes, Bible stories, and content.

What are the benefits of this style of scope & sequence?

  • Because there are multiple places throughout God’s Word that emphasize these truths, the scope and sequence stays refreshed. While these timeless truths are repeated each year, different themes and Bible stories are used to teach the content.

How can I expect Bible stories to be ordered in Hyfi?

  • Hyfi is not a chronological study through the Bible. It is based on 12 Truths that teach kids who they are because of who God is. A balance of Old and New Testament Bible stories are used to teach these truths.

What software/hardware is needed?

Is special software needed?

  • No. Hyfi is a proprietary, digital platform that is web-based. You only need to create a free account through Ministry Grid to get started immediately. No special software is needed. Some churches will use special streaming software for the media, but they don’t have to.

What if my ministry area does not feature TVs or monitors?

  • Hyfi is media-driven and does require access to a screen to play the videos. If you do not have TVs or monitors in your space, a tablet device such as an iPad will accommodate smaller groups of kids.

How do I get media to my screens?

There are a few options for displaying Hyfi media. Ministry leaders are free to choose the option that works best for their ministry.

First decide:

  1. Use Ministry Grid’s Presentation Mode built into the Group Leader view to stream directly from Ministry Grid. Click/tap a media thumbnail to open in full screen mode of your web browser OR
  2. Download media files using the “Download Presentation Media” button.

There are a few options to display downloaded media files:

  • Use a program like ProPresenter or Free Show
  • Use a web platform like Playlist or SignPresenter
  • Drag/Drop media files into Keynote
  • Copy files to a USB drive and plug into your TV or DVD player
  • Insert media into slides to create a PowerPoint file

What does customization look like?
  • Customization through the Ministry Grid platform allows church leaders to add customization features to Hyfi sessions. These features include toggling activities on or off, adding special notes for your team, creating multiple leader guides for specific age groups or multiple campuses, etc. You’ll have the flexibility to include or adjust additional videos or session elements such as countdowns, intro videos, object lessons, or stage games.

What is the Hyfi Digital Leader Guide and how do I use it?
  • Hyfi is a 100% digitally-delivered resource that uses an interactive digital leader guide. Through this leader guide, ministry leaders are able to choose which activities best fit their group and “turn off” activities they do not plan to use. This creates a personalized leader guide for your ministry.

Gospel presentation

How is the gospel presented?

  • Churches have the opportunity to teach the gospel in context every week where kids can hear how Jesus connects to what they are learning. Every 5th Sunday, Hyfi utilizes the 3 Circles gospel conversation guide within the session.

What is a Game Changer session?

  • Every year has 3-4 extra sessions with a 5th Sunday or 5th Wednesday. Hyfi calls these Game Changer sessions where kids are encouraged to bring their friends to an extra fun day at church. In addition to games and relays, a full gospel presentation will be given with opportunities to respond.

Pricing

What are the subscription costs?

  • Monthly subscriptions start at $89/month for Preschool, $119/month for Kids, and $49/month for Students. Combined age group packages and annual subscriptions are also available. View pricing sheet

Can I cancel at any time?

  • You can cancel your monthly, digital curriculum subscription at any time. You will retain access through the end of your billing cycle, at which time the content will become locked and unavailable to access. If you cancel your annual subscription, it will end at the end of your billing cycle for the year.

Can I start at any time?

  • Yes! The dynamic, rolling scope and sequence makes it easy to jump in at any time!

What about decorating?
  • Hyfi is designed with simplicity in mind. We want to keep things simple for you and your leaders. You’ll find tons of freebies in the graphics package folder included in your subscription. If you want to go the extra mile, monthly theme verses are also available for purchase at Lifeway.com.

Ministry Grid

Which devices does Ministry Grid support?

  • Ministry Grid is available on all modern devices all the way from your phone to your desktop, and everything in between that has an up-to-date web browser. If you want to know which browsers we support, you can check out this link.

What’s the difference between my organization in Ministry Grid & at my.lifeway.com?

  • To take advantage of all the core features of Ministry Grid (adding users from your church, assigning training, building training, etc.) a Ministry Grid organization has to be created/established. Don’t worry, we will provide you with videos and helps for training. If you have problems, you can call our Customer Support Team. In Ministry Grid, you should see the name of your organization directly under the top menu bar. If you don’t, feel free to chat with our team and we’ll be glad to get things sorted out.

How many people can I add into Ministry Grid?

  • For Digital Curriculum subscriptions, we ask that you keep the number of people accessing the content to match the range of weekly attendees you gave us when purchasing the subscription.

Is there an app for Ministry Grid?

  • Ministry Grid is a web browser application that is accessible from the web browser of any desktop, tablet, or mobile device. This format allows Ministry Grid to give you even more flexibility and access using your current preferred web browser applications. Simply go to ministrygrid.lifeway.com to get started. The platform is designed to be used on your phone like an app.

Do you need to have a registered account to use Ministry Grid?

What does Hyfi offer for family to continue conversations at home?

Family engagement for Hyfi Preschool/Kids has 4 components:

  1. Weekly digital access to Hyfi At Home content that includes family activities, videos, connection questions, and discussion questions around that week’s Main Idea and Bible content
  2. Weekly family email/text templates – containing Hyfi’s Highlight of the Week to help equip families for “at home” or “on the go” gospel conversations
  3. Social media engagement plan
  4. “Take it home” section on each activity page
  5. Family events (4 per year)

    If I start now, what session am I on?
    • When starting Hyfi, you start with the current calendar month and weekly session.
    • Because every session stands alone, you’ll never have to worry about missing important details for the session you are in.

    Can I reschedule sessions?
    • Sessions can be rescheduled within the month they are meant to be used. It is highly encouraged to use Hyfi’s sessions on the weeks and within the month’s they are assigned.
